Darjeeling Tibetans Celebrate US "Resolve Tibet Act" Adoption

On July 24, 2024, over 1,500 Tibetans in Darjeeling celebrated the US adoption of the "Resolve Tibet Act- S.138" with a "Thank You USA" event on Lhakar (White Wednesday). The gathering featured speeches in Tibetan and Nepali, national anthems, and a moment of silence for Tibetan martyrs. Attendees honored the Dalai Lama with long-life prayers and tossed barley flour. Sweets and water were shared with locals and tourists. Key figures, including acting Tibetan Settlement Officer Tenzin Rangdol and regional leaders, participated. The event concluded with traditional dances and distribution of informative brochures.
