His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit Ladakh starting July 12, marking a return to his summer itinerary after knee surgery in June 2024. He will rest initially and later participate in programs in Zanskar toward the end of the month. The visit was confirmed by his office in a letter to the Ladakh Buddhist Association. His planned 2024 visit was postponed due to surgery in New York. This year’s schedule includes a stop at Karsha Monastery, Zanskar’s largest monastery.
