The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has released new protocols for devotees planning to visit the Mundgod Tibetan Settlement this December. With the spiritual leader scheduled to arrive on December 12 for an extended stay until January 2026, officials have mandated advance registration for all visitors. While residents of India, Bhutan, and Nepal must submit valid identification via email, foreign nationals face stricter requirements. Non-Indian citizens must secure a Protected Area Permit (PAP) from the Indian government before arrival. The circular warns that foreigners without this permit will be denied entry to blessing lines and could face detention for illegal entry.
