Dalai Lama Congratulates Machado on 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has sent a letter congratulating María Corina Machado for winning the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, praising her for promoting democracy and building unity in her society. “By your own example you have reminded us of the need to speak out in defence of democracy and freedom,” he wrote, concluding with prayers and good wishes. Machado was honoured for her “tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”
