He highlighted the spread of misinformation by Chinese officials targeting Tibetan-Canadians, such as false claims about Tibet's human rights and cultural preservation. Sherap stressed that while Chinese officials can freely promote their views in Canada, Canadian delegates face restrictions in China. He urged capacity-building programs to empower Tibetan communities and reduce fear caused by foreign interference. This testimony is part of an ongoing Canadian government study on foreign interference, launched in 2023.
