CTA Marks Gandhi’s 156th Birth Anniversary in Dharamsala

The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) observed the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Gangchen Kyishong in Dharamsala on October 2, 2025. Officiating Sikyong Dolma Gyari led the ceremony on behalf of the 16th Kashag, joined by Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner Yeshi Wangmo, Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, and senior officials. Participants offered a butter lamp and flowers before Gandhi’s portrait. In her address, Dolma Gyari emphasized Gandhi’s philosophy of truth and non-violence as central to Tibet’s peaceful struggle, noting that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has guided Tibetans along this path.
