The Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha (VBS) met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala to invite Tibetan Buddhist representatives to the Vesak celebration in Vietnam in May 2025, a key annual Buddhist observance. VBS member Ven Thich Nhat Tu shared that His Holiness approved the request and proposed collaboration between Tibetan and Vietnamese Buddhism, including an MoU for long-term cooperation and translation of the Dalai Lama's works for Vietnamese readers. The delegation of 45 Vietnamese Buddhists also sought the Dalai Lama’s blessings for his continued health and global impact, following the Asian Buddhist Conference in Delhi.
