Exiled Tibetan monk Lobsang Jamyang has empowered hundreds of slum children in India through education, transforming their lives via the Tong-Len Charitable Trust he co-founded in 2004. Initially aiding children who were ragpickers or beggars, Tong-Len now supports over 340 students, many of whom have become doctors, engineers, and journalists. The Dalai Lama Trust has also bolstered the initiative. Graduates like Dr. Pinki Haryan and Mamta exemplify the profound impact of the program, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in Dharamshala. Students credit Jamyang for reshaping their futures, enabling them to break societal barriers and pursue professional aspirations.
