According to Phayul, India’s National Centre for Seismology (NCS) has replaced “Xizang” with “Tibet” in its official earthquake reports. The change follows a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Tibet’s Dingri and came after advocacy efforts by the Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group (V-TAG) under the Central Tibetan Administration. V-TAG Delhi welcomed the move as a reaffirmation of Tibet’s identity. Researcher Tenzing Dhamdul urged other nations to follow India’s lead, emphasizing the role of Tibetan advocacy. He also expressed gratitude for community support, highlighting collective action for Tibet’s recognition.
