A fire in McLeod Ganj's main market on Nov. 22 caused losses of approximately ₹60 lakh, according to Phayul. The blaze, reportedly triggered by an electrical short circuit, began in the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) handicraft shop and spread to nearby shops and residential units. Firefighters contained the fire after five hours, but two shops and four homes were severely damaged. The TCV shop and an adjacent shop suffered major losses, while residents above the shops lost significant property. Authorities, including the District Commissioner, are investigating and assisting the affected parties.
