The Buddhist Digital Resource Center (BDRC) and the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) in Dharamsala have partnered to digitize and preserve hundreds of rare Tibetan manuscripts. According to BDRC, this project makes 420 volumes, containing over 216,000 images, accessible online. LTWA, established in 1970, houses over 120,000 texts, including rare manuscripts. Supported by a 2017 Mellon Foundation grant, the collaboration involved cataloging, digitization, and post-processing to ensure high-quality digital preservation. This effort aligns with both organizations' missions to safeguard Tibetan cultural heritage, ensuring global access to these invaluable resources for research and future generations.
