A grand 113-foot-tall Buddha statue is being constructed at the Kollegal Dhondenling Tibetan settlement in Odeyarpalya, Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, inspired by the famous Ravangla Buddha Park in Sikkim. The statue, crafted from copper and gold-coated in Bhutan, is part of a Rs 6 crore project to boost tourism in the area. Expected to be completed by the end of next year, this installation will add a unique draw to the region, similar to Bylakuppe's famed monastery. According to The Times of India, local officials are seeking further support for the project from district authorities.
