"We are an Extension of Indian Culture," Sikyong Penpa Tsering

Sikyong Penpa Tsering, President of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, praised India's support for Tibetan culture, emphasizing their deep cultural ties. Tsering highlighted that Tibetan language and religion are rooted in Indian scripts, preserving ancient Indian wisdom through translated texts. He expressed gratitude for India's refuge to the Dalai Lama and Tibetan exiles since 1951. Tsering also acknowledged India's support during a recent US Congressional visit, which he sees as a validation of the Tibetan cause. Additionally, he noted that President Biden's signing of the 'Resolve Tibet Act' has unsettled China, marking a significant stance on Tibet's occupation.
