Uyghur Rights Group Urges Global Action as Over 16,000 Mosques Demolished in Xinjiang

The East Turkistan National Movement (ETNM) has condemned China's destruction of over 16,000 mosques in Xinjiang, accusing Beijing of erasing Uyghur cultural and religious identity. The group highlighted that religious sites have been repurposed as bars and clubs, and called on the international community to take action. The ETNM criticized the silence of Muslim-majority countries and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the issue, urging them to address the ongoing human rights abuses in the region.
