In the picturesque location of Dharamshala, the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) rang in its 63rd anniversary, marking a testament to their enduring legacy. The event showcased a seamless blend of cultural festivities and acknowledging the laudable achievements of the institution.

As noted by Tibet.net, the day commenced with an insightful welcome speech by the TCV President, Sonam Sichoe, where he highlighted the school’s accomplishments over the years. Adding to the celebratory fervor, officiating Sikyong Kalon Dolma Gyari conveyed the Central Tibetan Administration‘s heartfelt congratulations.

Commending the institution’s relentless efforts, the officiating Sikyong remarked, “Despite the exile circumstance, these schools have been central to the preservation of Tibetan language, religion, and culture.” In his statement, as sourced by Tibet.net, he paid a heartfelt tribute to stalwarts like the eldest sister of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tsering Dolma and the younger sister Kasur Jetsun Pema. Their relentless spirit, along with countless educators, has played an instrumental role in the village’s success story.

The day was also graced by dignitaries like Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Kyabje Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche, who shared their own words of encouragement and admiration for TCV’s continuous efforts in providing holistic education.

But what truly moved the attendees was the award ceremony. Recognizing the dedication of the staff, Kyabje Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche presented commendations to those with two decades of service at TCV. Meanwhile, the spotlight also shone brightly on students who have showcased academic brilliance, with accolades presented by officiating Sikyong Kalon Dolma Gyari.

The atmosphere turned lively with students delivering vibrant cultural performances and calisthenics that resonated with the audience’s heartstrings.

The commemorative event was attended by a stellar line-up, as mentioned by Tibet.net, including Kyabje Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche as the chief guest, representatives from various Tibetan administrative departments, and other notable figures. The event culminated with a vote of thanks from Tsultrim Dorjee, the Director of Upper TCV School, encapsulating the gratitude and hope that resonates within the institution’s walls.
