According to Tibet.net, the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has recently marked a significant achievement in its Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) project.

Funded generously by USAID, the ECCE project has accomplished the installation of diverse indoor and outdoor play equipment in 14 crèches scattered across Tibetan settlements in India. Locations benefiting from this initiative include Doeguling Mundgod, Lugsam Bylakuppe, Dhondenling Kollegal, and many others. Additionally, as Tibet.net points out, “Earlier in 2022, similar facilities were extended to three crèches in Bir, Chauntra, and Gangkyi.”

One of the primary motivations behind this project is to uplift the health and overall quality of life for children attending these crèches. The presence of this new equipment has already demonstrated a tangible difference in the children’s growth. The play resources, as per the Tibet.net report, “promote physical activity and outdoor play, thereby improving motor skills and sensory development.” The added bonus? An evident boost in cognitive development during these vital early years.

Beyond the physical and cognitive perks, the ECCE project’s emphasis on play has nurtured the children’s emotional and social sides as well. These young ones are now engaging more in interactive and cooperative play, essential components for socio-emotional development. In choosing the play equipment, safety and age-appropriateness were paramount, ensuring the little ones had the best environment to thrive in.

But it’s not just about the kids. Tibet.net also highlighted the project’s efforts to train caregivers and conduct parental counseling sessions. These steps ensure that both parents and caregivers understand the value of early childhood education and remain involved in every stage of their child’s development.

In wrapping up the update, the Department of Education, CTA expressed deep gratitude, stating, “sincere appreciation to the Tibetan Settlement Offices of the respective crèches for their invaluable cooperation and guidance.” Their unwavering support, as highlighted by Tibet.net, was pivotal to the project’s success.
