Speaker Sonam Tenphel Engages with Tibetan Canadian Students on Educational Tour

Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile met with students from the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre’s school. The students are on an educational tour organized from July 15 to 21, 2024. The Speaker welcomed them warmly, highlighting their strong Tibetan identity despite growing up in Canada. He shared his experiences in Tibet, his escape to India, and his role in the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. The Speaker emphasized the importance of democracy, inspired by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and discussed the structure and efforts of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
