Sikyong Penpa Tsering Visits Jangthang Nyoma Tibetan Settlement

On July 10, 2024, Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration visited the Tibetan settlement in Jangthang Nyoma, Ladakh. He received a warm welcome and toured the residences and project sites. Sikyong also visited the Tibetan Children's Village school, interacting with students and teachers.


During a public address, Sikyong discussed the importance of preserving Tibet's cultural and linguistic heritage amid Chinese restrictions and highlighted Tibetan Buddhism's role in promoting global peace. He emphasized the Middle Way Approach for resolving the Tibet-China conflict and noted bipartisan support for the Resolve Tibet Act in the U.S. Congress. Sikyong also met with local officials to seek support for improving the livelihoods of Tibetan residents.
