Former National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon, at the launch of "Imperial Games in Tibet" by Dilip Sinha, said some of India's choices regarding Tibet were correct. He emphasized that focusing too much on past decisions is unproductive and noted the resurgence of great power rivalries. Menon remarked that the US "Resolve Tibet Act" mainly reflects US-China competition and doesn't affect Tibet directly. He praised Sinha's book for its honest, non-partisan recounting of historical events, including the Dalai Lama's escape to India in 1959. Sinha highlighted India’s post-independence stance against colonialism and European imperialism.
