Snow and Rain Bring Relief to Dry Himachal Pradesh

Fresh snowfall and rainfall in Himachal Pradesh have eased concerns about a dry summer after an 80% precipitation deficit in January and February. The snowfall on Feb. 20 covered the region, including Dharamshala, boosting water reserves and delighting tourists. The weather office predicts more precipitation in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand through Feb. 26. An orange alert has been issued for Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi due to expected heavy snowfall and thunderstorms. Authorities anticipate continued snowfall in higher-altitude areas, helping to counter the winter drought.
