Kangra District Disaster Management Authority has imposed a complete ban on trekking above 3,000 meters to enhance tourist safety. Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa announced that mandatory prior permission from the Kangra Superintendent of Police is now required for popular routes like Kareri, Triund, and Adi Himani Chamunda. These permits will be automatically cancelled if weather alerts are issued by the Meteorological Department. While rescue agencies remain exempt, local tourism stakeholders must inform visitors of these new restrictions. This decision follows the recent rescue of four lost trekkers near the Dhauladhar range.
