In a serene gathering under the Bodhi Tree in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India, spiritual leaders and followers from various Buddhist traditions united for a profound cause: to pray for global peace. This event, meticulously reported by the official website of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, marked the conclusion of the three-day International Sangha Forum.

The revered Bodhi Tree, known as the site of Buddha’s enlightenment, provided a symbolic backdrop for this significant assembly. His Holiness the Dalai Lama, emanating a sense of calm and wisdom, joined the gathering from Ganden Phelgyeling, a Tibetan Monastery.

His arrival was greeted with respect and admiration, as he exchanged warm greetings with notable figures like Sakya Gongma Rinpoché and Jangtsé Chöjé Rinpoché, highlighting the spirit of unity and reverence at the event.

Siliing Tongkhor Rinpoché, in his welcoming speech, reminded everyone of the site’s historical and spiritual significance. “We have gathered here in the shade of the Bodhi Tree recalling that this is where the Buddha attained enlightenment,” he stated. His words echoed the gathering’s purpose: to harness the teachings of Buddha, which remain relevant and timely, to address the world’s challenges with compassion and a sense of unity.

The event culminated in a powerful message by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who emphasized the practicality and effectiveness of Buddha’s teachings in fostering inner development and peace. “If you integrate them with your mind, you’ll see their effect, which ultimately results in the attainment of Buddhahood,” His Holiness stated, as per his official website.
