Dr Tsewang Gyalpo Arya Highlights Chinese Religious Atrocities in Tibet at Tokyo

At the 2024 International Religious Freedom Summit Asia in Tokyo, US-based IRF and co-organizers discussed religious freedom issues in Asia. Former US officials Sam Brownback and Katrina Lantos Swett led the event, emphasizing the importance of addressing violations under authoritarian regimes. Dr Tsewang Gyalpo Arya from His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s office detailed China's ongoing destruction of Tibetan culture and religion, including the demolition of significant Buddhist statues and interference in religious matters. The summit, featuring speeches by Mike Pompeo and Taiwan’s President William Lai, called for global action against religious oppression.
