CTA Demands China Disclose Whereabouts of Four Detained Tibetans

Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) or Tibetan govt. in -exile has called on China to cease arbitrary detentions and to release information on the whereabouts of four Tibetans recently detained in Ngaba County. Since September 2024, Chinese authorities have secretly detained monks and civilians, sparking concerns about human rights abuses. CTA raised alarms over China’s forcible removal of over 1,700 young monks from Tibetan monasteries and their placement in Chinese boarding schools, reportedly without parental consent. The CTA emphasizes that these actions threaten Tibetans’ cultural preservation, as China intensifies its control over Tibetan educational and religious institutions.
