The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has modified the age criteria for civil service candidates to 25-40 years, from the previous 21-35 years range. Secretary Yangkyi of the Public Service Commission highlighted that the main reason for this change is to allow candidates for the Joint Secretary post to have the necessary experience, typically gained over eight years, reports Phayul. This shift aims to improve candidate qualifications but has raised concerns among younger aspirants who now face a delay in starting their careers. The criteria for the Junior Clerk position, however, remain unchanged at grade 12 completion.
