Central Tibetan Administration Celebrates US 'Resolve Tibet Act'

On July 17, 2024, Tibetan leaders, including Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Officiating Sikyong Dolma Gyari, gathered to thank the US for enacting the 'Resolve Tibet Act.' The Act aims to address the Tibet-China dispute. Cabinet Secretary Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi and DIIR Secretary Karma Choeying highlighted the law's importance against Chinese disinformation. Despite celebrating this milestone, Dolma Gyari condemned China's increased repression in Tibet, including closing a renowned Tibetan school. The Act reinforces US support for Tibetan self-governance and human rights.
