A young Tibetan from Ngaba, Sichuan, bravely spoke out against illegal mining in his hometown of Tsaruma via a WeChat video, according to ICT. He revealed that the Anhui Xianhe Construction Engineering Company has been illegally excavating sand from the Tsaruma River, a tributary of Asia's major rivers, since May 2023. This has caused severe environmental damage and soil erosion, endangering local homes. Despite official acknowledgment, no action has been taken. The whistleblower, fearing inaction and corruption, publicly appealed to China's top leaders for intervention.
