Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has condemned China for sanctioning two Canadian civil society organizations—the Canada Tibet Committee and Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project—and 20 individuals. Deputy Speaker Dolma Tsering criticized the move as transnational aggression aimed at silencing advocacy for human rights. Member Namgyal Dolkar called the sanctions unprecedented and a "shameful" threat to free speech globally. Canada also condemned China’s actions, calling them arbitrary and reaffirming support for the targeted groups. The sanctions, announced on December 22, drew international concern about China’s growing attempts to suppress dissent beyond its borders.
