The Tibetan-Chinese Alliance Conference took place in Canberra on February 8-9, 2025, bringing together around 50 human rights defenders and victims of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Organized by the Tibet Information Office and allied groups, the event promoted Tibet’s Middle Way Approach and constitutional democracy in China. Participants condemned human rights abuses in Tibet, East Turkestan, and Hong Kong, reaffirmed Tibetan religious autonomy, and urged Australia to impose Magnitsky-style sanctions on Chinese officials. They also called on the Australian government to press China on human rights and religious freedom in diplomatic talks.
