Sikyong and Arunachal CM Address Environment and Security Concerns in Itanagar

On January 24, 2025, Sikyong Penpa Tsering and Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu co-hosted a seminar on “Environment and Security” in Itanagar. The event highlighted threats posed by China’s mega-dam projects in Tibet, including their impact on India’s security and ecosystems. Participants included Tibetan officials, Indian MPs, and tribal leaders. Sikyong emphasized India-Tibet historical ties and Tibet's role in border security, while CM Khandu underscored shared cultural heritage and environmental risks. Calls were made for collective action against China's projects and support for Tibet’s struggle, with speakers advocating peaceful resolutions and recognition of the Dalai Lama.
