Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women with a half-day event in Gangchen Kyishong, led by the Women’s Empowerment Desk (WED). Chief Guest Kalon Gyari Dolma highlighted the day’s origins, honoring the Mirabal Sisters, and called for challenging denial of gender-based violence within Tibetan society. Activities included a quiz, outfit challenge, and poster competition to promote awareness. Supported by USAID and NDI, the event reinforced the CTA’s commitment to gender equality and urged collective responsibility to ensure safety and fairness in the community.
