Chinese authorities have rejected a third retrial request for Tibetan activist Anya Sengdra, who is serving a seven-year sentence for campaigning against government corruption, according to Radio Free Asia (RFA). Sengdra, 53, was convicted in 2019 for "disturbing social order" after criticizing illegal mining and corrupt officials in Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. His lawyer, Lin Qilei, posted on social media that the Supreme People’s Court in Xi'an declined the appeal, advising against further petitions. Recently, Chinese authorities also detained Tibetan activist Tsogon Tsering after he criticized a local company’s illegal resource extraction, with his whereabouts still unknown.
