China quickly mobilized its pro-CCP establishment to condemn the newly signed US Resolve Tibet Act, which challenges Beijing's claims over Tibet. The law, signed by President Biden on July 12, calls for international dialogue on Tibet that includes the Dalai Lama. On July 13, the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a symposium denouncing the Act, with leaders from government-controlled religious groups and ethnic communities labeling it interference in China’s internal affairs and reiterating that Tibet has always been part of China.
