Taiwanese Taoists Concerned Over CCP's Manipulative Tactics

Taiwanese Taoist believers visiting Fujian in early July participated in a tree-planting ceremony, which Chinese authorities used to imply support for Taiwan-China reunification. Taiwan's National Security Bureau (NSB) warns that China manipulates religious exchanges to spread propaganda and build influence networks. The NSB noted that some Chinese temples are fake and that the CCP organizes bogus academic conferences. The NSB highlighted the CCP's focus on Mazu temples, which are significant in Taiwan, to push their agenda, despite ongoing repression of other religious practices in China.
