Nepal's Department of Hydrology and Meteorology claims that China has withheld key information on glacial lakes in Tibet, making flood management difficult. According to the Diplomat, more than 200 people have died due to severe floods during Nepal’s monsoon season, with the Kathmandu Valley heavily affected. Nepal, China, and India must collaborate to mitigate disaster risks linked to melting glaciers. Despite years of requests, China has not fully shared data. Experts warn that glacial lake expansion threatens infrastructure and communities across the region.
