Gonmo Kyi, sister of imprisoned Tibetan businessman Dorjee Tashi, shared a video on September 24 detailing her efforts to secure her brother's retrial. According to Tibet Watch, she has been repeatedly detained, beaten, and threatened by Public Security Bureau officers during her protests in Lhasa. Despite her deteriorating health, she vows to continue advocating for her brother, who is serving a life sentence for loan fraud—a charge contested by his family. Gonmo Kyi's appeals have been dismissed by local courts, and she hasn't seen her brother in person since 2019.
