Flash floods and mudslides have struck a Tibetan area in Sichuan Province, resulting in the deaths of at least four people, with 23 others missing as of Saturday night, xinhua reports. The disasters hit Kangding city and nearby areas, damaging villages and causing part of the Yakang expressway bridge to collapse, sending three vehicles into the mountainous terrain.

Rescue operations involving 300 personnel are ongoing. The incidents have raised concerns over infrastructure quality, with public outcry over potential "tofu-dreg projects," referring to poorly constructed structures. This is China's second major bridge collapse in less than a month.
