During the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Chinese dissidents protested against Beijing's human rights record. Liu Feilong and Qian Yun, exiled activists, held placards supporting Taiwan and condemning China's regime. Despite heavy police presence and large crowds, their protest went largely unnoticed. Both Liu and Qian fled China due to persecution and continue to face surveillance and harassment abroad. Their actions highlight the ongoing struggle for freedom of speech and human rights for Chinese dissidents even outside their homeland.
