Chinese authorities shut down Gangjong Ancient and Modern Sherig School in Golog, eastern Tibet, on June 24, 2026, according to Tibet Post International. The school was founded on July 6, 2008, by Tulku Hungkar Dorjee Rinpoche near Lung Ngon Monastery in Gade County. The closure came after the school’s last 30 students completed their studies.
