China's Aerospace Information Research Institute has initiated a study of land-atmosphere interactions in the Mount Qomolangma region of Tibet. Led by researcher Jia Li, the experiment aims to understand the influence of these interactions on local and global climates. Using unmanned aerial platforms at elevations around 4,200 meters, the team will collect data on radiation flux and other factors. This research is crucial due to rapidly changing climate conditions, including glacier thinning. The study will combine data from ground stations and satellites to enhance climate models for the Tibetan Plateau and beyond.
