China's People’s Liberation Army is building a village near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Demchok, Ladakh, despite ongoing diplomatic talks to ease tensions since 2020. Satellite images show around 100 new buildings within 10 miles of the LAC. India is countering with the Vibrant Village Programme to prevent migration from border areas. This initiative, overseen by Home Minister Amit Shah, aims to develop villages along the LAC with China, including those in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh. The program includes road projects costing Rs 2,420 crores.
