A 19th-century Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Qinghai province was demolished for a hydropower dam project, sources confirmed. Video evidence shows the Atsok Gon Dechen Choekhorling Monastery completely destroyed. Authorities began relocating it in April to avoid submersion by the world's tallest 3D-printed dam, expected to be completed this year. The monastery's 160 monks now live in makeshift huts without promised alternative housing. Despite government assurances, only minimal funds are allocated for rebuilding. Tibetans view the project as another disregard for their culture and environment.
