The 12th Tawang Tirth Yatra, a significant pilgrimage emphasizing the solidarity with Tibet, was organized by Assam Prant of the Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) and successfully inaugurated in Guwahati, Assam, as reported by Tibet.net. The event, which started on 24 November 2023, saw its commencement from Guwahati on 25 November under the guidance of Maaniya Shri Indresh Kumar, a senior RSS Pracharak and Patron of BTSM.

The Yatra, which spanned from 25 to 30 November, witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 250 people arriving from various states of India. The pilgrims’ journey included a route through Balemu, known for the convergence of the geographical boundaries of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Bhutan, and passed through significant locations like Bomdila, Dirang, and Sela Pass.

A highlight of the Yatra was the visit to the renowned Tawang Monastery, where the yatris received blessings. A poignant moment was their visit to the Indo-Tibetan border at Bumla, where they paid tribute to the brave Indian Army personnel who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The yatris performed Dharti Poojan, worshipping the earth to uphold the territorial integrity of Bharat Maa (Mother India).

The journey included visits to notable sites like Madhuri Lake, also known as Sangesar Tso, and the Jang Water Falls, culminating in Guwahati, Assam. The closing ceremony of the Yatra, led by Shri Pankaj Goyal, National General Secretary of BTSM, was scheduled to be held in Tezpur on 30 November 2023.

During the Yatra, the participants expressed their commitment to support the cause of Tibet and the liberation of Kailash Mansarovar, echoing slogans against the Chinese occupation of Tibet and the Panchsheel agreement. The Yatra also aimed to send a message to China and the world, highlighting the ongoing injustices faced by Tibet and its people.

The Tawang Tirth Yatra represents a significant expression of solidarity and support for Tibet from the Indian community. Organized annually by the Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch, it serves not only as a spiritual journey but also as a platform to raise awareness and support for the Tibetan cause, resonating with the sentiments of many who oppose the illegal occupation of Tibet by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
