Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the leader of the Central Tibetan Administration, has officially congratulated Lai Ching-te, the President-elect of Taiwan, on his recent electoral victory. In a heartfelt letter, Sikyong expressed the Tibetan administration’s and people’s joy over the election’s outcome, recognizing it as a reflection of Taiwan’s unwavering dedication to democratic values and freedom.

In his letter, which was reported by Tibet.net, Sikyong Tsering highlighted the remarkable leadership of Tsai Ing-wen, the outgoing President of Taiwan. He praised her courage and vision in upholding Taiwan’s interests against formidable challenges, a stance that has garnered global admiration.

Emphasizing the deep resonance between the aspirations of the Taiwanese and Tibetan people, Sikyong Tsering noted the shared values of self-determination and freedom. He mentioned how the Tibetan community, though living in exile, cherishes the principles of democracy and the desire to flourish as part of the international community.

Sikyong Penpa Tsering expressed his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of Tibetans in Tibet and around the world. He wished President-elect Lai Ching-te a successful tenure marked by prosperity and an unwavering commitment to the cherished values of democracy and freedom.
