In a heartfelt message from Shewatsel Phodrang, His Holiness the Dalai Lama reached out to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, expressing profound sorrow over the recent rain-related calamities in the state, which claimed over 50 lives.

Citing Himachal Pradesh as his home since May 1960, the revered spiritual leader emphasized his deep connection and empathy for its residents. “I naturally feel an affinity for its people,” he remarked, mourning the loss of lives in the tragic incidents.

Offering condolences and support, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, “I pray for those brothers and sisters who have lost their lives and extend my heartfelt condolences to their families and to others impacted by this devastating event.”

His Holiness acknowledged the relentless efforts of the state government and associated agencies working diligently to bring relief to the affected regions. In a gesture of solidarity, he mentioned that The Dalai Lama Trust would make a donation to support the ongoing rescue and relief operations in Himachal Pradesh.
