Over 700 Tibetans Gather in Zurich Candlelight March to Honor Pawo Lobga Rangzen

Thirteen Tibetan associations united in Zurich on August 5, 2026, organizing a candlelight march to mark the 33rd day since Pawo Lobga Rangzen's passing. More than 700 participants marched from Werdmühleplatz toward the Chinese Embassy. Speakers highlighted Lobga Rangzen's sacrifice in front of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where he protested Chinese policies threatening Tibetan identity and culture. UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Topgyal emphasized unity within the exile community and urged Tibetans worldwide to continue appealing to international bodies, calling on the United Nations to acknowledge the self-immolation and support the Tibetan freedom cause.
